Construction & Demolition (C&D) Recycling      and LEED Services

According to a recent Waste Characterization Study conducted by the State of California, construction and demolition (C&D) materials account for approximately 22% of the total waste streamCommon C&D materials include lumber, metals, drywall, masonry (brick, concrete, etc.), carpet, plastic, pipe, rocks, dirt, paper, cardboard, and "green waste" related to land development. Of these, metals are the most commonly recycled material, while lumber comprises the majority of debris ending up in landfills.

Not surprisingly, a large portion of C&D materials can be reused and/or recycled, prolonging our supply of natural resources and reducing waste disposal costs in the process (in Dallas, for example, recycling on job sites eliminates the 5% City Franchise Fee reserved for landfilled loads). Additionally, rebates are often available for certain common construction materials.
